Chalk drawing!

Recently I did some chalk drawing in my town, and it was jolly good fun! Loads of kids joined in too, it was super. We used up 2 whole packets of chalk! I think it may become a monthy event. It was really good to have an unlimited amount of space to work with and for people to be directly involved with it.

One Stop Redwood Stop. New Comic!

I've just finished drawing another comic. It's about a convenience store in a huge tree, which is run by a blind owl, called Blind Owl. It's a relaxed, friendly place, where not a lot of work gets done. I think my drawings are getting tighter throughout each comic book, and the panels are becoming more balanced on the page, and not over crowded. I'm also really pleased with the wash, as it gives the drawings more depth.

New Comic Book Yay Woo.

Here are a couple of pages from my new comic book. The pages aren't really in the right order, but I don't want to give anything away. I made it in two days because I wanted to test to see how quikcly I could put a comic together. It's the first time I've used ink in a comic book too, and I didn't pencil it first, so it was pretty challenging. I'm pleased with how it's worked out and I'll definitely use ink for my next comics.

Skipper and Morris Issue 2- OUT NOW!

The second issue of Skipper and Morris is finished! This one is shorter than the first, but it feels like a more suitable length for my comics. In this issue Skipper and Morris are adventuring in the desert, meeting some interesting folk along the way. It also includes the blossoming romance between Morris and a lady cat called Tina, a meeting with a very interesting ostrich and something exciting at the end.
Ask me for a copy if you're interested!

Biography project drawings- Quincy Jones!

Here are a few drawings from the biography project. I was lucky enough to be given Quincy Jones, possibly the coolest man in the world. He's responsable for so much great music over the last 60 years, he's an incredible human being and a badass. Anyway, should be more to come soon!

Some drawing with ink!

Recently I've been drawing with ink a lot more and working on A3. It's a good step forward because I was feeling frustrated using pen and pencil in my sketchbook. It's good to have room to make more confident marks which is making my work much looser. It's also allowing my portraits to improve; becoming more interesting and unusual.
