Here is my etching plate and several of the etchings I produced from it. It was my first try at the process and I was really pleased with the results. The image is from the same photo I worked on for Rob's recreation workshop. It's just a slightly more refined and considered version. Even though etching is such a lengthy process it was worth it in the end, as it seems to lend well to the work I make. I'm really excited about continuing with it and experimenting with many colours and images.
Next was the drawing from film workshop. It was both recording from moving image and stills, looking particularly at the environment. Great selection including; Brazil, The Assassination of Jesse James, 2001, Manhattan, Fear and Loathing and Paris, Texas. All chosen for their specific visual languages. Drawing from the moving image was definitely a challenge, but it helped that they're all incredible films. I felt slightly too excited at many moments.
